Sound on stream

How to capture Yappie's soundscapes in OBS without them playing twice.

Music is optional. If you play soundscapes while you stream, take a minute to set the sound up, or your viewers hear it twice.

Why it plays twice

Yappie's soundscapes play from the same app as its windows, in a hidden part of it. OBS's Application Audio Capture on Yappie picks them up. A Desktop Audio source picks up the same sound too. With both on, the soundscape reaches your stream twice, one on top of the other.

What to do

Use one way, not both:

  1. In OBS, add an Application Audio Capture source and choose Yappie.
  2. Keep Yappie out of Desktop Audio: mute it there, so only the capture carries Yappie's sound.

If you would rather use Desktop Audio on its own, leave Application Audio Capture off. What matters is that Yappie's sound takes one path to your stream.

If you use the stream overlay and no music, there is nothing to set up.
