Getting started
A day with Yappie
A short walkthrough of a focused day, start to finish, including a day off.
Here's what an unhurried day with Yappie can look like, from your first hello in the morning to a quiet glance back in the evening. Nothing here is required. Take the pieces that fit your day and leave the rest.
Morning: say hello
Open the app and greet your pet. Being there on a new day feeds Bond, the aspect that counts days spent together, and it starts the day's sky.
Glance at your Today list. Add a couple of small intentions, nothing heavy, only what you'd genuinely like to focus on. If one feels big, break it into steps, on your own or with optional AI help, so the first move is obvious.

Focusing: start the ring
Attach one intention and press Start. The ring begins to fill, your pet settles in beside you, and the clock keeps running even if you hide the window or wander off to another tab. Watch the time pass, or look away and work. Either way, your minutes are yours.
Your first session of the day is also what credits Discipline.
Stopping early never loses your time. Your minutes go to Unsorted focus, or split onto the task you were on, so a short session is never wasted.
The break is an offer
When the session ends, Yappie suggests a break, roughly a fifth of the session you finished, and every fourth one is longer. Nothing starts on its own. Take it if you want it, or start the next session straight away.
Stretch, rest your eyes, step away. If you took a break away from the app, or went for a walk, or called somebody, open the drawer at the bottom of the Focus tab and log it. Breaks and movement feed Body, time with people feeds Social, and all of them hand your pet some energy back.
Midday: a gentle nudge
Partway through, a wellbeing bubble might quietly remind you to drink some water or stand up. These are optional and off unless you've turned them on, so they only appear if you've invited them.
Afternoon: watch the growth
Open Growth to see the five aspects tick upward, the energy meter settle, and your streak hold steady. Things rise fastest when the aspects stay balanced, so a mix of focus, rest and connection does more than any single push.

If you'd like company, this is a lovely time to cheer a friend, sit in a study group's room for a while, or ask to focus beside a stranger who's working right now.
Evening: a quiet look back
As the day winds down, open My sky. Every day hides a shape, and the things you actually did have been placing stars in it: focus sessions, tasks and steps ticked off, breaks, movement, time with people. Beside the sky is the log of those moments, in order, with the time each one happened. Fill the shape and it's discovered, revealing its name and a line of writing to keep with the day. Any day with at least five stars in it, discovered or not, hangs in your Gallery of Greatness.
Then the day rolls gently into your History, ready for you to pick up again tomorrow. Some time the next day, a short look back at yesterday slides up from the bottom of the window with a sentence or two and one gentle suggestion.
There's no scoreboard to beat. Showing up, in whatever way you can, is the whole point.
A day off looks different
On a day you've told Yappie you're resting, almost none of the above is there. The Focus screen clears down to your pet and a line telling you to go enjoy it, and your streak stays safe without you doing a thing. If the mood changes, one button opens the day back up.
What a rest day looks like walks through everything that changes, and Taking time off is where you tell Yappie a day is yours in the first place.
