Cheers

Cheers are small, warm notes you send a friend. A quick way to say "keep going" without breaking anyone's focus, and without either of you having to think of the words.

Cheers need a free, signed-in account and work through the cloud across Desktop, Mobile and Web.

Sending a cheer

A cheer is a pre-written message you pick from a curated set, grouped into six moods so you can match the moment:

• Fun
• Encouragement
• Light humor
• Appreciation
• Celebration
• Check-in

1. Open a friend's row, or their profile, and choose Cheer them on.
2. Pick a mood, then the message inside it that fits.
3. Send it on its way.

Because the wording is ready-made, sending one takes a second and always lands kindly.

Yappie sends the message, not your text. Your friend reads it in their own language, whichever one they use the app in, and the send dialog tells you which that is before you press send.

Hand-delivered by your Yappie

For an extra touch, tick Have my Yappie deliver it in person and choose the face it should wear on arrival.

On your friend's screen, the delivery takes over their Focus page: your Yappie turns up beside theirs, wearing the face you chose, and hands the message over. It is the same encouragement, arriving with a little more personality.

Receiving one

An arriving cheer announces itself in a drawer at the top of the window. From there your friend can read the short message, watch the full in-person delivery, reply, or ignore it. Nothing is forced open and nothing interrupts a running timer.

Replies are pre-written too, so acknowledging a cheer never costs anyone their concentration. Whether they replied, ignored it, or have not looked yet is all kept in your cheer history with that friend.

Cheers that arrive close together are spaced at least fifteen seconds apart, so a burst of them cannot bombard you.

The cooldown

To keep cheers feeling special rather than noisy, there is one hour between cheers you send to the same friend. The button carries a live countdown while you wait ("Next cheer available in 23m 41s"), and you can still cheer everyone else in the meantime.

A muted cheer still uses up the cooldown. If a friend has muted your cheers, yours counts as sent and you wait out the same hour, even though it stays quiet on their end.

Cheers in your sky

A cheer you send and a cheer you receive each place a star in the day's sky. Being kind to somebody counts as one of the things you did that day, exactly like finishing a task or taking a proper break.
