Refund & Cancellation Policy

Last updated 30 June 2026

This policy explains your rights to cancel and to a refund when you buy a paid Yappie subscription. It applies to all paid plans (Yappie Lite, Yappie Super, and Yappie Super Family). Yappie is operated by Atiora Solutions (a sole proprietorship registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce under KVK 42085433), Netherlands. Payments are processed by Paddle.com, which acts as our authorised reseller and Merchant of Record; Paddle handles billing, tax, and the processing of any refund.

In short: You can cancel anytime, and you keep access until the end of the period you’ve paid for. If you’re an EU/EEA consumer, you also have a 14-day right to withdraw from a new purchase for a refund. To request either, email support@myyappie.app.

1. Your 14-day right of withdrawal (EU/EEA consumers)

If you are a consumer resident in the European Union or European Economic Area, you have the right to withdraw from your purchase within 14 days of the day your subscription begins, without giving any reason. This is your statutory “cooling-off” right under EU consumer law.

Yappie gives you immediate access to paid features as soon as your subscription starts. By starting to use those paid features during the 14-day period, you ask us to begin the service immediately. You can still withdraw within the 14 days; however, if you do, we may charge an amount in proportion to the use you have made of the service up to the point you told us you wished to withdraw. If you have not used the paid features, you are entitled to a full refund.

We will refund you within 14 days of receiving your withdrawal notice, using the same payment method you used for the original transaction. You will not pay any fee for the refund itself.

2. How to request a withdrawal or refund

Email support@myyappie.app from (or quoting) the email address used for the purchase, and include the order or transaction ID from your Paddle receipt. A clear statement that you wish to withdraw is enough — no specific form is required, though you may use the EU model withdrawal form below if you prefer. We’ll confirm by email and instruct Paddle to issue any refund due.

3. Cancelling your subscription

You can cancel a paid subscription at any time from Account → Billing. Cancelling stops all future renewal charges. You keep full access to your paid plan until the end of the billing period you have already paid for; we do not lock you out early.

Outside the 14-day withdrawal window described in section 1, cancelling does not entitle you to a refund of the remaining, unused portion of the current billing period, except where required by law or where we choose to grant one at our discretion (see section 8).

4. Automatic renewals

Paid subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or yearly, depending on the plan you chose) until you cancel. You agreed to this when you subscribed. Paddle emails you a receipt for each renewal charge. To avoid a renewal, cancel before the renewal date — cancelling at any point during the period is enough to stop the next charge.

Renewal charges are not refundable once the 14-day window for that renewal has passed, but you can always cancel to prevent further renewals. If a charge ever takes you by surprise, contact us — see section 8.

5. Free tier, referral rewards, and complimentary plans

Yappie’s Free tier requires no payment and nothing to refund. Paid time obtained through the referral programme, promotional credits, or a complimentary plan granted by us has no cash value and cannot be refunded or exchanged for money. Cancelling such a plan simply returns you to the Free tier.

6. Student discount

Student-discounted subscriptions are sold on annual plans only. They carry the same 14-day withdrawal right and the same cancellation terms as any other paid plan, applied to the discounted price actually paid.

7. Family plans

For a Yappie Super Family plan, the person who buys the plan is the customer for billing and refund purposes. Withdrawal and refund rights belong to that buyer. If the buyer cancels or withdraws, the plan’s paid access ends for the buyer and every member at the point access cuts off, and members return to the Free tier.

8. Faulty service, errors, and goodwill

Your statutory rights as a consumer — including remedies if the service is faulty or not as described — always apply and are not limited by this policy. If something isn’t working, please contact support@myyappie.app first — we would much rather fix the problem. Beyond your legal rights, we may also grant a refund at our discretion, for example for a clear service fault, a duplicate charge, or a charge you did not authorise.

9. How and when refunds are paid

Because Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record, all refunds are issued by Paddle, to your original payment method where possible, and normally within 14 days of approval. In line with Paddle’s buyer terms, refund requests made more than 60 days after a transaction may not be able to be processed. Refunds are made in the currency of the original charge (subscriptions are billed in Euros). How quickly the money appears on your statement depends on your bank or card provider.

10. Chargebacks

If you believe a charge is wrong, please contact us before asking your bank to reverse it — we can almost always resolve it faster and without affecting your account. Opening a chargeback may suspend your subscription while it is investigated.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top shows when it last changed. The version in force at the time of your purchase is the one that applies to that purchase.
