About
Who makes Yappie
Yappie is made by Atiora Solutions in the Netherlands, and built by one person. Small enough that a bug report reaches the person who can fix it, and young enough that some of it is still being built in the open.
Atiora Solutions
Yappie is operated by Atiora Solutions, a sole proprietorship registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce under KVK 42085433. The same entity is named in the refund policy and on the invoices, so there is nothing to look up.
Atiora is the parent company and has its own site at atiora.net.
Why it exists
Most focus apps are a timer with a streak counter attached, and they treat a missed day as a failure to punish. That works for about a week. What tends to keep people coming back is something small that notices they showed up.
So Yappie is a focus timer with a companion that grows alongside the work you actually do, and a day off costs you nothing. It is built for people who find starting hard, which includes a lot of people with ADHD, though you do not need a diagnosis for a timer to be kind to you.
Small, and honest about it
One person builds Yappie. That is why the desktop app is further along than the phone apps, why the website says what is out and what is not, and why the roadmap changes when something turns out to matter more than planned.
It also means feedback goes straight to the person who writes the code. If something is broken or missing, say so and it will be read.
